Spike just has a uv basking bulb because when I first got him and had the original setup with the UVB bulb, I was informed that I did not need it it and it could actually hurt/blind him. Tom suggested that he would be fine with at least 20 min of sun twice a week. Well now it is too cold for that. He still has his uv and he gets calcium powder on his food. What else should I do over the winter to keep him healthy? Thank you.

The only UVB bulbs that ate not good are the coil kind. Get a CHE for nite time, it has heat and no lite. You can use it during the day also. The mvb are good for heat, lite and UVB.
