You could do tree frogs easily !!!
Not sure about your boxie but mine will shred small fish. I use to keep a pleco in his water side of enclosure with his waterfall filter just to help keep clean. Came home one day was a murder scene in his pond !!!

Nice but is the tree frogs from personal experience and I do expect him to try to eat some of the stuff but will it hurt him if it does?

I would only keep fish or maybe some snails to help keep the water clean. Nothing else.

I kept tree frogs with my boxie for a long time. Fire Bellies as well. This was 200 gallon aquarium mind you though. Only reason still don't is because it's one of my saltwater setups now. Gave the frogs to nephew.

I have kept tree frogs with one of my three-toed box turtles. It was initially supposed to be a temporary arrangement but it lasted a little more than a year. I had no issues between them (the frogs would sometimes bask on the turtle's back). My male did take a chunk out of the tail of a very small fire belly newt once when he shared a terrarium with four of them. The only other problem I had with the newts is they kept escaping.
