Three toeds can be kept slightly cooler given their range, but yes, they are basically the same from what I understand. I've tortoise sat three of my friends three toes, two of his ornates, and five of his gulf coasts, and the only ones with slightly different care were the ornates, which he kept in a more open, less wooded enclosure.
I keep Gulf Coast, Three Toed, and Eastern's all together. Never had a problem. They all eat the same, and hibernate in the same area of the turtle garden.
Thanks terryo.
I just want to do it right by getting all my facts straight.
I plan on building a bigger enclosure this fall/winter so I will have room for two.
If you know anyone wanting to re home a three toed female or another gulf coast female please let me know.
