The thermometers my dad had in the enclosure (which he gave me) have died. So much for the cheapo-delux stuff...

I am wondering if any of these are any good? I kinda like the first one because it would be easy to quickly glance at the conditions with out straining my eyes to read the tiny numbers.

This one is my least favorite one:

Then there's a two-in-one digital one (which is also a cool idea):

What do you guys think?

I've never had any luck with the "Stick-on" type. They usually either fail, die, or give false readings. I am more inclined to use something like this: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2049773

*Note: I have not used the above product, however, it is nearly identical to the type of product I do use. I can't remember the name or manufacture of the type I use.

Thanks. I am wondering if I use that if I can set the first location at one end of the enclosure and the other one at the cool end. That would be ideal for me.

Thanks!

this is one I use from homedepot. Acu-rite combo digital thermometer and humidity gage.
I also have a zoo med digital thermometer from petsmart and an exo terra digital hygrometer. Petsmart had the hygrometer on sale.

With digital thermometers you have to let them sit for a while before getting accurate temperatures. You can't just set it there for a minute and get the correct temp and humidity.

Usually 30-45mins is good.

I use a temp gun (about $40-50) and they are instant readings of temps, and more accurate. They don't read humidity though.

With all of the digital and non digital ones it's important to remember that unless it's lab/scientific quality, they usually aren't the most accurate. They'll give you a ballpark to work with.

I'm using one I got for $8 from walmart and am so far happy with how its performed. It's small enough that I can set it in the enclosure (at tort level) and move it around without it getting knocked over/walked on by the torts.

Officially it had the "accurite" brand on the packaging, but it was the same one. I enjoy digital more because they give you the high/low in that area for the last 24 hours.
