Ok so I was wondering what a test nest looks like and if someone could post some pics of there's if they have any. I put this in the Russian tortoise forum bkuz that's what I have 2 Russians that I think mated. And just any info on signs to look for to know if my female is pregnant would be much appreciated.

A test nest is just a hole in the ground where the female has dug and abandoned. You can usually see a little dirt piled up on either side of the hole. Just a small hole a couple inches across and depth depends upon when she abandoned it. Sometimes its as deep as her back legs are long, sometimes not.

Incidentally, when a female is ready to lay eggs, she is considered "gravid" not pregnant.

Sometimes they get restless and pace the perimeter of the habitat. Sometimes they just act normal.
