Can you post a picture of it. My spur thighed has had a swollen eye a couple times over the years, it usually clears up in a couple days. Warm bathes help, so be sure to give a couple a day and keep the temps near the top of the range day and night until it clears up. If it is still looking bad in a day or two then you may need some eye drops for it. Dont freak out, its not a crisis, its like you having pink eye. Try to find a tort specialist if possible where you live.

Hi First Picture is good eye and the second is the swollen eye I have given her a bath this morning and dribbled the water over the bad eye I will try bathing her for the next couple of days and see if it improves. Sorry she is so dirty I have just got her in she has to have 30 mins in the garden even when it is cold she is so naughty. When you say eye drops do you have any names for these. I think it may be related to the bedding I have cleaned them out over the weekend used the same beach chipping and a little hay for bedding. I have used this for the past couple of years as the soil makes to much dust and sand gets on her food.

Hey, please read this

The Best Way To Raise Any Temperate Species Of Tortoise | Tortoise Forum

It covers the suitable substrates that you can use. Hay and beach chipping are not suitable for different reasons, hard wood chips and dust can be a serious irritant to soft tissue, it is plausible that the new bedding has exposed the tort to fresher cut chips with more resin etc. . . . I would switch to Orchid bark personally, though cypress mulch would be more similar to what your using. Hay is a mold risk, not good.

Beak needs trimming soon as well.

I was talking about anti-biotic eyedrops, vet would have to prescribe.
