no it is not a Sulcata. It could be a desert tortoise or depending on size a Russian or Hermans/

Thanks Tom. By comparing photos, I was narrowing it down to either the Mojave or Sonoran Desert Tortoise. It should be fairly easy to make the adjustments. I've read much of your posts over the years when I thought I had a Sulcata...they were my bible:) I'm actually relieved that Dee Dee will remain small and easier to care for in that respect. She (or he) is a sweetie. BTW, any thoughts on whether she is male or female?
