Is the split in his beak normal? When he first walks up to the camera, it looks like he has a piece of grass stuck in it. Thought it was cute like a redneck sort of tortoise look, but now after watching a few times closely, he looks very dry and shell looks damaged on the right side. So perhaps that beak has some sort of issue too? I really wish I had room for one of these awesome beasts, but there is just no way. I'll continue to admire pictures and videos until I hit the lotto and get the tortoise paradise of my dreams.

I can't imagine someone putting this guy up for adoption. I mean, if this is someone's pet for what looks like12-15 years or more, how do they just sell him? It looks like they took good care of him and built him a house. I don't understand people today!
