Sometimes while my approximately 3 year old Sulcata is grazing in the yard, he eats the roots of the plants ( like grass and clover). Is this safe for them to eat? I know lots of animals eat plant roots for extra nutrients so unless I hear otherwise, I won't stop him. Also, I feed him cactus leaf and grassland tortoise food occasionally, and since its summertime he grazes a lot in the yard. I know sulcatas need a lot of variety, so my question is, what are some other things that I can feed him on a regular basis when he's in his table? In the past I haven't been able to get him to eat hay like I've read they should mostly eat, and most vegetables should be only fed once and a while. Any suggestions from experience?
