I am new to the forum and would like to ask a general behavior question. I tried searching for previous thread but not sure how to word it.
My sulcatas, mainly young ones, when they soak but sometimes even in there enclosure , will kind of "wag" their front legs back and forth. Wag may not be the correct term, but they kind of pump front legs back and forth.
I'd love post a video but not sure how. Any answers appreciated

they do that to Aid in breathing. They do not have diaphragms like mammals, so they pump their legs like little bellows sometimes. Pretty normal

Exactly this :)

Also a tortoise has a shell. It's chest cannot rise and fall like yours does. As a result the legs and head have to move as the lungs fill and empty.

Welcome to Tortoise Forum Brian! :)
Yup, just part of the breathing process.

Hello and welcome Brian. The member that is formerly known as "Captain Awesome", who will always be known as Captain Awesome to me, answered your question, but I wanted to throw these in too:
http://www.tortoiseforum.org/threads/how-to-raise-a-healthy-sulcata-or-leopard-version-2-0.79895/
http://www.tortoiseforum.org/threads/beginner-mistakes.45180/
http://www.tortoiseforum.org/threads/for-those-who-have-a-young-sulcata.76744/

Most of the care info that is out there for baby sulcatas is old, out-dated and all wrong. Give those threads a read through to see what I mean and save your baby.
