Went to local organic nursery for some top soil and they had these two options. Which would be best. AA4F5310-40E1-431C-9364-9508E5C02B51.jpeg5D88BAA7-8982-46B5-83A8-3FC86AC7C667.jpeg34AA807D-F33B-48BF-B811-70952C1AEE72.jpegE7CDA931-6239-4440-95AA-185CD95AAE26.jpeg

I started with topsoil and it’s really messy. I switched to coconut fiber. A lot of folks here also like orchid bark in small chunk.

Neither. Soil shouldn't be used as a substrate for tortoises. It is made from composted yard waste and it could be something toxic. No way to know. Its also very messy.

What size is your Hermanni? I prefer coco coir for babies, and fine grade orchid bark for older ones.
