I know people have asked this question, but opinions change over time. So vote you and your tortoises' personal preference. If you have suggestions or questions comment them. If you want to defend why you think your substrate is great you can explain. Climates are different in different regions so peoples preferences are gonna be different for that reason. (maybe)

I prefer coco coir for baby russians, and fine grade orchid bark for older ones.
