Is it bad to just use coconut fiber as the bedding in the enclosure for a hatchling with miss in some areas?

That is exactly what i use. Just keep it damp and pack it down with your hand.

I just use plain coir.
Coconut fiber comes in small and large sizes... which are you thinking about? Moss is great. Holds moisture and is favorite to nap on :D

I meant coir! Mind is all over the place today! I had bought cypress mulch to use to but the wood chips in it are huge! And now that I'm thinking about it I don't want one to
Hurt my tortoise! I'm trying to get everything perfect because it arrives tomorrow morning! So I'm planning on taking out all the mulch because I feel like it could cause harm.

Good idea! Big chunks might get 'stuck' :(
