I have looked at a lot of posts and seen a lot of great setups. I still need some advise to get started.

I currently have a 30g glass aquarium with hood and stand that I will use for my baby sulcata. As for lighting, there is a "sunlight" bulb in the original hood and im using a 75 watt incondesent for light and heat. His UV needs are being met from time outside in the sun.

The pet store where I got the tort from said I have to keep him on alfafa pellets. I have read here not to do that. I want to go as natural as I can with his habitat and use a soil/moss type of substrate.

What are items I can get from local hardware stores, pet stores or nurseries to use for substrate.

Thanks for your input!!
