i just switched my leopard over from hay to coco fiber. this morning i noticed him taking a few steps and then taking a nimble, taking some more steps and then a nimble. can this be stopped or should i not worry about it? i did not mix the coco fiber with mulch because i expected this from this one.

Is it the stuff that kinda looks like dirt or is it kinda chuncky like mulch? I tried the mulch looking kind and Tank ate a couple big pieces so I took it out. I was worried he would get plugged up.

Thats the good stuff and thats what I use now. I mix it with dirt and it works well. Is he/she still eating it? Sometimes they just have to try it a few times, crazy kids. I would love to see pics I love Leopards and would love to have a pair someday :)

If it was more than a few bites, I would want to put the tort on newspaper or something until I could change it out. Even safe substrates like that shouldn't be eaten in large amounts. Have you tried organic potting soil or anything but the hay? I wouldn't say you are in the clear on it stopping him up (although the likelihood is small), as it takes a few days for the food to turn to poop.

If it stopped then more than likely they were just taste testing it out. Good to hear!
