I found this setup online...

I absolutely plan to build that (sans big pond) in the near future! So decorative, and what a space saver!!

Thats awesome.. I you do your homework.. You can find someone ( you probably know)that works somewhere that can aquire tempered glass.. I got mine through a friend for ours 1/4" thick made to size for 18$.. Lexan or plexi is fine but if you made something this elaborate you should use temp glass so after multiple cleanings it doesnt windup all scratched up hazy looking..

I like the furniture quality, that's cool. The substrate. Is that rabbit pellets? if it is, maybe not a good idea for substrate. Gets mold. Hurts eyes. Some tortoises are allergic and their little eyes close. Can you do organic topsoil or coco coir and/or orchid bark? Then you can add pots of plants and dig them in, or little grass patches. And are you able to seal the top for more humidity. Baby tortoises spend a lot of their baby days in warm humid places. This will keep them from getting lumpy and pyramided. Do love that it is like furniture. Nice. Just a few baby tweaks for the babies.

Very nice! Does it have a top to help keep the temps right?

Perfect view! So relaxing to watch them. Nice. I commented on your other thread, a little tweaking suggestions. Your baby in there looks happy! : )

Nice! What kind of substrate is that?

Temp controlled hide; basking spot is @ about 86 degrees in a square foot, 81 the surrounding sq feet. Substrate is coco coir under the pellets. Been a long time since I have had small torts, weve had them a year they are doing great.

Coco is under pellets, i had a large sulcata for years. I have never once had mold or any problem with the pellets, i mist the tank multiple times a day so the cour stays moist. Iver never seen the first hint if mold in any in 20 years? I has to rehome my large tort a few years back due to a move. We got these two hand picked fr a breeder we know. Ours our in our lives multiple hours daily. Out of the table as much as in and we have actually changed the house and yard their future.

And we live in the Ohio valley, humidity control is a joke.. You would have to study up on our weather to understand.
Thats why nonone here successfully raises chameleons..
I try my best though.

Hope you guys realize I can spell, just not with my THUMB.. Should have proof read lol..

It's beautiful. What's not beautiful are those pellets. They are the worse thing you could use. Please get rid of them. Use just coir, cypress mulch or plain dirt. Also, they need some humidity. They are already pyramided. Wet the coir after you throw out the pellets so it is damp. Also, I don't see a water dish. They should have water available 24/7 a clay flower pot saucer works good. Some plants would be nice for them too. They wouldn't sit out in the open like that in the wild. Please read Toms threads below on proper raising, temps and humidity.

Also, be prepared to separate them if needed. They are loner torts and they may not get along the whole time you have them in there.

I go to the health food store and get wheat berries and grow them in trays. They sprout fairly quickly and they look like nice, neat grass and your littles can graze. Fun. It's the stuff they make wheat grass drink, for health. It looks cool and its easy peasy to grow and healthy for grazing. : )
