You've got such an interesting group of turtles. I LOVE the colors. I have a breeding colony of eastern box turts and none of them are as colorful as yours.

the origin matters ,wild box turtles in ohio are not brightly colored , especially northeast ohio..... the only place i seen colorful box turtles in ohio was around marietta, west virginia border...... mine originally came from north carolina , whether that was their origin or not i couldn't say....... they do appear to me to be from different locales

friday my dog gabe found a corner where he could dig a hole up against the fence for the box turtle enclosure, i had that problem on the other side about 15-20yrs ago, i thought i solved it, i thought the fence was completely bordering the concrete, one corner was far enough away for gabe to dig a small hole, most of the box turtles found it ..... thankfully gabe didn't want to chew on them or eat them, last dog did this ate them......... best i can tell i found them all, at least everyone i could remember, i'll continue looking in case..........

gabe found one today........was definitely in his mouth but he didn't chew on her at all
