if possible, a better picture would help, but it looks like a rub spot from the shell. More knowledgeable minds will come along though.

definitely looks like a rub/abrasion spot... now that's as far as I can take you. I know there are other posts on here addressing similar issues. do a search and you should find answers on how to treat it.
