The swirled oneThanks How far away is the heat? I HAD an 100w bulb, but my russian got too toasty, so I switched to a 60w flood light (Tom is a genius) and it keeps him very comfortable-just right
What does the UVB look like? Like this-

So which one should I get should I use the other. Or if not which ones should I get im very confusedThanks
Coil bulbs have a bit of a bad history with a lot of torts (and turtles) they can burn eyes, affect behavior, so on!
http://www.tortoiseforum.org/threads/coil-type-uv-bulbs-dont-use-them.35247/ Very explanational
Could you post a picture of it ??im still confused :/Don't get coil bulbs.
MVBs (Mercury Vapor Bulbs) have heat and UVB in a normal looking bulb, much like how a heat bulb might appear, but it also has UVB.
I have tube UVBs, which need hoods (or something long enough to accommodate such a long bulb!) but depending on how much wattage either of your current lamps are rated for, and MVB is probably the simplest choice!
They are a little expensive, though,
I've read that and done lots of research see i live in Ohio and the weather is crazyI'm sorry! I'm terrible at explaining
This is a coil bulb-

-and it ONLY provides UVB. It can hurt your tortoises eyes, though!
This is an MVB-

-and it provides heat AND UVB, in a safe package.
This is a tube UVB-

Does your tort go outside? Here's a caresheet, I don't think I've given you it yet!

I put him outside on days that it's been warm and sunny which hasn't been a lot but lately it's been like 3 times.Thank you for saying that, now I know you've probably got 50' weather recently Which means no outside time.
Is there anything I should do for when I can't take him out at allIt's good for him but now it'll be getting too chilly for him (grrr, weather!) Tortoises can 'survive' on a few hours of UVB a week, which I way I asked... (but now he won't be able to go outside enough!)
