Hi All! So my birthday present from Darwin was a pencil eraser sized spot of shell rot that I discovered this morning... YAY ME! I've been reading threads today and I just want to make sure I'm doing things right. Any and all advice is totally welcome!
Betadine soak, soft scrub of the shell, betadine soak again, clean the enclosure and put down a dry surface like paper towels, once he's dry start with an anti-fungal in the area of the discovered spot, clean all items in the enclosure prior to discovery of offender spot, keep the dry substrate until spot is gone. Soak, scrub and repeat...
Did I miss anything? I noted some people used paper towels as a temporary substrate, anyone afraid their tort would munch on the PT? Can I sub the PT with dry cypress mulch? I've adjusted the misting system to span out and mist less, but do I completely shut it off until spot is gone, and just soak-soak-soak?
Goodness I feel I'm drowning here already...
Thanks all!
Shayna
