Tomorrow I'm doubling their enclosure space and we bought the materials for a day pen this evening. Going to build a mobile frame to move around the yard for them to get their sunshine time in.
We had planned on doing this last weekend but we had to buy a car battery instead :0/
I've started the second 54 gallon tote. I've cut one hole in the lid and I'm wondering if one dome is enough? If I use an incandescent bulb? Or if I should cut a second whole for a low wattage CHE? I think I'd almost rather use a seedmat or other under tank heater to keep the second part of the enclosure warm and humid.
The second tote will not have a plexiglas top but instead in using the lid it comes with.
I couldn't find an electrical box that I wouldn't have had to greatly modify so I bought two 4" PVC fittings instead.
I'm also still trying to decide if I want them side by side, broadside or end to end. Or even L shaped together. I have to move the enlarged enclosure no matter which way I do it so I have to figure that out too. It's too large (doubled) to stay in my kitchen lol.
I'd put 2 holes. You could use one for a 2nd CHE. Plug it into the same thermostat as the other one. And the other hole could be a 40 watt bulb for extra lighting.
Or start with one hole and test the temps..you can always cut a second one if you need it.
