Can someone tell me how to start a new post lol? I’m not good at these things and this was the only place I could find where it would let my type put anything.

In case anyone reads this- my Russian, who I’ve had for about a month, has a kind of sharp spot on his shell above his neck. Just wondering if he’s ok? He seems very healthy and happy just seems like that would poke him and hurt.

Hi, and welcome!

That little spot just above the tortoise's head is where the nuchal scute is. Your tortoise has a nuchal scute. Some species of tortoise do not have a nuchal scute. It belongs there, but if you think it's too sharp, you can gently soften the edge with fine grade sand paper.
