I know it’s still not an appropriate size but currently working with the space we have until we move

Enclosure is 4ft by 2ft and half a ft high
Has a coco coir 50/50 mix with soil
Arcadia maxpro T5 uvb14w
100w floodlight for basking

I’ll post pictures of temps one in basking and one at cooler end

Currently too cold for going outside so gets to roam the house for a while but also gets there steps in with a wheel

I’m happy to take in any advice.

Temperature on pictures probably aren’t within guidelines but this is due to the thermometers being out of enclosure to turn soil.

As your little guy is still younger, I’d consider getting yourself a cover to make this set up more of a closed chamber, it’ll help greatly in retaining heat and humidity which will help in smoother growth moving forward.

I wouldn’t use any kind of top soil, stick to just the coco coir.

Free roaming round the house is discouraged for numerous reasons, not just safety but the overall toll it can take on their health🐢💚

Hello!
Sounds like you have Arcadia ShadeDweller Max UVB lamp. Even at 10" this lamp doesn't provide enough UVB for a tortoise. Unfortunately, just replacing a lamp in a fixture is not enough (a T5HO lamp like Arcadia T5 Desert 12% can probably work in this fixture but UV output will be lower and no way to predict how low will it be).
