I know whenever I buy seeds I end up having to buy a lot more than what I need for my tortoises, and I'd really like more variety than quantity. (Most of the tortoise-edible foods come in pasture-planting sizes in my area.)
Hopefully some of you are in the same boat?

I was thinking we could trade small portions of the big amounts of seed we've bought, so that way everyone could have more variety.

I have a huge bag of "Climax Timothy Hay", and a big bag of "White Dutch Clover" seeds. Would anyone want to trade a small amount of either of these for a small amount of a different kind?

I have some Carolina pet supply broad leaf mix lying around somewhere. I'd be interested :D even though I really don't have a green thumb. I tried to grow strawberry plants from a kit and had a pot of dirt on my window sill for months. Nothing ever grew! But how hard can clover be, right?

The clover is growing really well for me! I have it under grow lights indoors since everything outside is frozen, it's only been like 2 weeks and there are already some 3rd leaves starting.
I'd totally be down to trade you some for a bit of broad leaf mix!

Over the next few weeks after my move, I'll be ordering some seeds from Carolina Supply and I'll be down to trade. We're finally going to have our own little balcony where I can grow weeds and plants! Yay! :) I'll keep you posted =]

I would trade some Opuntia pads for Clover / Dandelion or Chicory seeds.

I want to trade you! My guys have never tried opuntia, and I've always been curious. Would you trade me for a bunch of clover?

Sure!
PM me with your contact info & I'll do the same.
Do you want them just to feed or do you want to plant some?
Young pads are great for feeding & old pads are for planting. I'll have them ready to go in the ground for you. Its kinda tricky, NOT! You cut a pad & let it sit for 5 to 10 days to develop a callous on the cut. Then plant it.

I can fit a lot into a small USPS box. You know the "If it fits it ships" box.
How does 2 handfuls of clover in trade sound?
I think that comes to , A #@&)!@$# load squared! Or is it cubed?
I can never remember!

This thread is so cool. What a better way to directly better the hobby of Tortoise husbandry.

I've got Dichondra growing. It'll grow outside down to 25F.
