Safe grass seed?

I can't see the ingredients, but no, I would not use anything from the hardware store. There are all kinds of weird additives in that kind of grass seed that are intended to make the grass look pretty and be bug free. They do not intend it to be eaten by our pets.

Buy something that is specifically designed and packed as food for animals. I've had great success with both of these:
