Sad, my tortoise passed away

sad the tortoise we purchased from petco died today. We took her to the vets but unfortunately we lost her. I then looked on the web and saw how petco keeps their animals, terrible.
I'm now really concerned for my 7 year old torti. The vet was unsure what had caused her death and was wanting us to have an autopsy and send samples away. This was going to cost $400 so obviously we didnt.
We came back, cleaned everything and replaced all the substrate both inside and out.
Keeping a close eye on Jammy to see if he gets I'll.
I did shed a tear along with my daughter for her girly tortoise Buttercup

I am so sorry that is heartbreaking, my russian came from petco too, although seems very healthy, loosing a pet is so hard to accept.
