I just brought home a new baby Russian and the rescue said he was perfectly healthy. So I tried to put him in with my other russian and mine tried to attack him I now have no where to put him intill I can buy another habitat but we are having a blizzard now and I can't drive there now can a baby russian temporally live with 3 friendly redfoots? Only for 3max

NO!

Do not mix species ever. And I wouldn't mix members of the SAME species without a quarantine period of at least a few months and several clean fecal exams.

BTW, your russians reaction was totally normal and to be expected for the species.

And I would not take the rescues word for it that the new tortoise is "perfectly healthy". It would be a rare rescued russian that wasn't carrying some heavy duty nasties.

you cannot mix species for the simple fact that they require different habitats. you don't house a dog how you house a bunny. and the specific two you have honestly couldn't be more opposite, ha.

until you can build the Russian his own home he will be fine in a big rubbermaid container. you know, the ones you store stuff in the basement? as big as possible but no smaller than 2x4. give him some dirt, a basking light of 100°, a hide and a water dish.

you run the risk of getting all your torts sick or injured if you keep them together, even if it's only for a couple days.
