Russian tortoise lighting

If u have a indoor tortoise is it good to take him outside on a warm day? If so can I just put him in a cardboard box with bedding? And how long and often should he be outside?
Any help would be great thx!

Yes absolutely, as often as possible tortoises benefit from natural sunshine. Just remember to have a cool spot for the tortoise to cool off so he does not overheat.
