My sliders have retained scutes and I don't know why. They haven't shed them for awhile and they're stacked up. Their water is kept filtered between 76-80f. They've got uvb and plenty of space to bask. I feed them Reptomin and Mazuri aquatic turtle pellets and float various greens daily, and chunks of cuttlebone monthly. Any ideas what can be causing this? Or anything I can do to help shed them off?

I was told to add some wheat germ (commonly found in goldfish food) to help shed scutes. My turtles get a mixture of 4-5 different turtle pellets and tossed in some wheat germ pellets.

I did read that elsewhere too actually. I think I'll give it a try. Thanks for your response.
