His is lirl (little girl) she was sent to us as a rescue from a college kid who had her in a very small enclosure. Shes doing so much better. Took her a while to adjust but as you can see she is a great eater and starting to get good smooth growth.

Congrats , is it a MEP ? Looks like one but can't be sure without seeing plastron .

That's great! This species is far too precious to be mistreated. I consider mine the Labradors of the tortoise world......Always looking for that next meal and troublemakers when you have your back turned!

I could not agree more. They really are probably my favorite out of all I've experienced in my tort years (and it's almost every species besides padlopers and bowsprits) I do love the emys blacks but my browns just are so personal and have the best personality. Lirl is a few months away from being put with the big ones. She's been very curious of them she likes to hang out on that side of the divider wall and wonder hmm when do I get to play with them? Hehe
