This is toxic in both cats and dogs, so just wondering if it is okay for the Torts? I see many of the enclosure pictures with it in there, that is why I am asking. I would love to include it in mine, but not at the risk of my Tort. I think it has to do with the insoluble calcium oxalates.

Anyone with any thoughts on this please feel free to reply.

I've seen it on both edible plant lists and on toxic plant lists so I'm not sure.

The reason that it is on any toxic lists is that it is high in oxalic acid. In mammalians it can cause irritation and even burns in the mouth. However, it grows in the natural territory of Redfoot and Chaco tortoises and is a natural food. In moderation it will not hurt. I have it in every single one of my hatchling enclosures, and they sometimes take a bite, but never very much.
