I was in Walmart and I noticed these coconut liners for hanging plants. I thought perhaps if you flip it over and cut out two entrance holes that you could use it as a hide. It's pretty firm and seems like it would hold up well.
I know it wouldn't "lock" in moisture like a completely closed hide(ex.plastic) but it would let a small percentage of light and heat in.
So I was wondering what others thoughts were and if anyone has ever tried this before?
It was only $1 for this one and one twice this size was $2.50
I didn't set it up yet because I would like to get some opinions from a couple veterans first.
Even if it wouldn't hold in moisture well I think it would make for a nice hiding spot .
Your thoughts would be appreciated.ImageUploadedByTortForum1390243503.700720.jpg

I think as soon as it gets too wet it will collapse. But, try it. If it works, it's a good idea.

I wasn't planning to soak the hide itself, but it is worth a try. I was mainly aiming to have some moist peat moss underneath it and place the coconut lining on top. I thought it might be dense enough to hold some moisture, creat shade, but maintain a better temperature than a completly closed off hide.

Its definitely worth some experimentation. I figured someone else along the way has tried this but I may be wrong. If it works does that make me a genius???

Do it! Then share the results with us. :)

I think it will look nice, and packed full with moss will be very warm and humid indeed.

I thought about using those as well but figured my busy bodies would climb up on it and collapse it on whomever was sleeping inside LOL
