Hello how are you all doing today. I just wanted to ask how much saline do I put in his nose and also how do I get Fred to put his head out. My husband helped me last night but we weren't able to do it because I went to get his head and he put it in his shell so we are going to try again today. I just hope everything is going to be good and I won't have to take him to the vet. I've read the horror stories and i am afraid to take him.

Sulcata are extremely strong...He just ain't gonna hold his head out for you, your husband has to grab a hold FAST and simply don't let go...You need to grab right behind his head, you have to hold tight...but NOT TOO tight, very tight tho without strangling ...It's hard.
Then give a short kinda strong burst once...maybe twice if it doesn't move...They very rarely get something stuck...usually after a bit of time you see that wasn't stuck really and the tort blew it out or sucked it down...so maybe you just need to wait?

Like Maggie said, a couple sharp bursts with the baby syringe to force the obstruction through ( The other end of the nares is in the roof of his mouth not down his throat.

(baby syringe = nasal aspirator)
