Planting veggies in a Sulcata enclosure

Hello my name is Zack and I’m new to the forum. I have a baby sulcata in a 3’x5’ sandbox. The sandbox is filled with a generic reptile mulch blend. As far as accessories I have a terra-cotta pot dish for veggie treats, a peice of flag stone for sunning, a half a log hideout, and two repti rocks for hay and water. I have a heat lamp and uv lamp over the flag stone. I was curious if I could grow baby radishes in the enclosure for a snack for the tortoise (Tobias).

Welcome! You could definitely plant them, as long as they have not been treated with any chemicals or are seeds.
How are you keeping humidity in that?
Is it outdoors? Could we see a picture?

Also keep in mind that if you’re planting seeds, they will be trampled before they grow.

Best to start plants in trays or pots and rotate them in and out of the enclosure as they get eaten or trampled.

Here is a picture of the enclosure. To keep humidity up I pour in hot water (around two cups) over the mulch about once a week. I also soak Tobias in a shallow dish about four times a week until he defecates.

So I will start the radish seeds in my greenhouse and then move them to the enclosure once they are leafy! Thanks for that advice.
