Planting a Tortoise Garden

In Montana we have two seasons, Winter and July.

We usually put in a flower bed in very late May.

I wanted to make a little tortoise food patch this year.

What should go into it? What should I avoid? It is a short season here.

Id plant lettuce.. go to your nursery and see if they have a mixture already growing.. plant it and you can harvest for months.. pick a few leaves off and feed...
pansies, petunias, nastursium...Rose of Sharron.. all good plants to have around.
