A thistle, I’d say. But bitter lettuce is another close relative. There are about a million chicories and they look pretty similar up front. Serrated green leaves, usually with obvious hairs. Multi petaled yellow flowers. If it makes you feel better, here are a couple of pictures of different dandelion relatives, they really all do look alike. I only recognized catsear for the first time last year.

If you look at the first picture, looking at the flowers sideways, you should see why I think your earlier photo is a chicory.

Okay, I’m not an expert here but I’m going with Asiatic “false” hawksbeard. Related to the chicories above but in a different plant genus. It’s the shape of the leaves that makes me think it’s a match. Some leaves on your plant have the more traditional, notched arrowhead shape of a chicory; others seem heart shaped. I don’t find a lot of references to feeding it on this site but what I do make it but seem safe. Alternatively could be just regular hawksbeard, also safe.

Here are some photos, what do you think?

That sure does look like it. There seems to be many of these type plants with a similar look. I've fed it in the past, but I like to know what I can feed daily and what has to be offered less. Thank you
