A neighbor has these and wants them gone. I was thinking of transplanting them to my place but I am not sure what they are.

Are these day lilies? I looked for pictures and don't find an exact match, so....

They look like either day lillies (Ok for torts to eat) or Asiatic Lily (very bad to eat).

If you could post a flower shot of it opened, that'd be great. I'm almost positive it's a pink day lilly because the Asiatic don't tend to have those kind of leaves where they are coming out from the base of the plant.

See how there are leaves all the way up the stem and no long ones?

See how the leaves come from the base (like yours).

I can't open the link you have on the Asiatic Lily, so I did a google search and looked at the images.

They all (Asiatic) appear to have the leaves growing off of a central stem.
Yes, I see that the Day Lily pics I can find seem to have the leaves that grow up from the base.

Thank you. That is a huge help.

CGKeith, Plants are funny things. some look like what they are not. Today there are so many hybrids I would be afraid to plant these within my tort area or feed them it until I had a definite ID.
They have sooo many hybrids these days. I would send the pic to a nursery, the daylily society in your area or the one I listed here. Or one of the plants to a nearby nursery or college campus that has a horticultue department or a zoo. Be sure to be safe.
