Hi Greg:

I see that you just put the vermiculite (perlite?) directly onto the floor of the incubator. Do you put something over the holes in the bottom? I'm always looking for ways to improve my incubating, and placing the eggs in little containers of vermiculite just doesn't seem to work for me. I never thought of just placing it all on the floor of the incubator. I'll try that next time.

[size=x-large]Yes! I cover all holes, bottom & top with medical clear tape, so moisture does not influence the seal. I mix 50/50, vermiculite & distilled water. Fill entire bottom portion of the cantainer and place eggs direct on the substrate. I have tried high end incubators, some in the thousands, most were junk. These simple incubators are perfected, one incubator per clutch and no forced air issues. I have talked to many other breeders, and the only consistant factors seem to be temperature & humidity levels. Here is a fresh setup form last night.
