Beautiful Tom...how long will it last? 2 weeks? Is that Daisey walking along the wall?
Cute face...and so pretty

You know they won't eat it that tall? How come you haven't let your big guys out there to keep it short? Thanks so much for the pictures, the long grass proves you don't actually have any big Sulcata to keep it short. Bob would never have let it get that tall...:D

Okay you goat-getter. You know I've got an answer for all of your queries, don't you?

-It will last until sometime in June and it started in October.
-Yes that's Daisy. I think she's going to look really nice as an adult despite her horrid start in life.
-Actually, she does eat it that tall. Munches it right down. She walks over the tall pieces and once she lays them flat, she gobbles them all up. But since its such a large area and she has it all to herself, the weeds are outpacing her. If I put a big tort in her pen, that would all be gone in an hour.
-If you notice in the big pen it looks like a smooth golf green. Just outside the pen, it looks just like that one end of Daisy's pen where its all over grown. I'm feeding the big ones a ton, but they still graze all day anyway. Depending on the rain, my weeds will peak around Feb or March.

Well, the only answer I have for you, is that Daisey is just beautiful.:) Her face is very feminine and her 'pyramids' are disappearing due to the smooth new growth. She's really pretty...you have done well by her. How is her personality?

She used to be shy, but she's getting more bold as time goes by. I haven't tried hand feeding her much yet. I mostly just leave her be. Some times I sit with her, but she just goes about her business. Very un-sulcata-like. When she was little she'd clam up if I walked to near to her, but now she pretty much ignores me.

Thank you, Maggie.

G*D DA%##*$ RABBITS!!! That's what. They only come out at night and only the really really leery ones are still alive. They've eaten a whole lot of new cactus plantings down to the ground. That one in the pen was an experiment a few years ago. I just stuck two in the ground and did nothing. One died and withered away, and that's the other one. Now I built a basin around it and I water it in the summer. That area did not used to be inside the pen, but the pen keeps getting bigger as I acquire more blocks.

I have the same problem with squirrels! They keep wrecking the grape tree I have in the summer and they munch up all the grapes before we even pick them! So I put sharp wires all around the tree and eventually one got caught and died...I think that was the message needed to get scare them off...never again did I see another squirrel lol.

And I forgot to mention that Daisey is a gem! She definitely looks happy in her new pen now...:)

I was thinking the same thing about her feminine features. She is very sweet looking Tom.
