Papilloma virus in birds

Does anyone know if a bird is infected with papilloma virus, can it be transmitted to a tortoise. Everything I've read shows its not to humans, dogs, cats etc. but nothing about tortoises.

They are very similar, I would not rule it out. About a decade ago it was fairly widely believed that Avian Herpes spread to tortoises and trutles, but a research vet I knew was getting data to suggest that the turtels had their own strains. The problem is it may be that herpes came from birds and then mutated to move through the turtle population faster. I have not talked to him in years so I don't know where that stands.
