overweight tortoise?

How can you tell if your Russian tortoise is gaining weight? I'm not really having this problem right now. But he loves his food Haha I was feeding him twice a day. But I stopped and only feed him once. Because a lot of the time he wouldn't even touch the second helping later that day. I don't over or under feed him.

I always use a scale when I want to know how much my tortoises weigh. I find that to be the easiest way to know their weight...
