I have a question for all you sulcata owners that do not live in a warm climate year around. Do any of you keep your sulcatas outside in the winter and if you do how do you house them so that they stay warm and do not get sick? I am desperate to know! thanks, Deanna

I live in Chicago. I don't have a sully, but I do have a leopard. I built a very well insulated 8x12 shed that will be heated for winter. I will also let him go outside when it is the nice, not snowing days. He will have a nice warm shed to heat back up in. Some will house them inside in a basement all winter, giving them the run of the basement or part of it. They will need lots of room, not just a table. If you can do a insulated heated shed, that's the way to go as they can withstand some cold as long as they can go and warm themselves back up.

I live in Oregon. We have hot summers and cold winters. I would NEVER keep my Sulcata outside unless it was a big barn that was totally safe and heated.
