Hello everyone!! I am planning on starting my outdoor home for our red foot tortoise. my question is, when I build the structure, and put the supporting post on the corners, should I go a couple inches into the soil, or flush with the ground ok? It going to be around 6*6.

I don't keep red foots, so may be wrong. To the best of my knowledge, they don't dig. For my leopards I go flush with the ground.

They don't dig. But they might push under something that is just sitting flat on the ground. They can also climb very well when they are small.
I have a short YOUTUBE video titled: Redfoot habitat Florida style.
You might find it useful.
