Hello T lover ~

I am unfamiliar with those leaves, altho I do know that it is possible to give too much calcium to a tort. It might help you to get new replies if you give more information on the kinds and sizes of torties you have...? {just a thought}

Good Luck!

Do't believe your torts will overdose on opuntia paddles. There only so much food they can eat and the calcium is no where near toxic level in the pads. Just feed the normal amount of opuntia as you would any other food and you'll fine. I'd forgoe the limestone powder though.

Opuntia: These are a great calcium-rich food- 100 grams of cactus pads have about...
- 164mg of calcium,
- 17mg of phosphorous, for a Ca:p ratio of a whopping 9.65:1!

When feeding Opuntia, you usually don't need additional calcium supplements. In fact, bits of opuntia make a nice calcium supplement for other foods!
