Hello. My boys got a Russian Tortise for Christmas and they are loving her. So am I to tell you the truth. I came to this site for more information and there is loads. I could spend hours.

I'm not sure how old Cali is but she is about 4.5in. long. She is very sweet. I think I have to switch out her ground material right off. She has Repti Bark right now. She lover her soaks a few times a week and loves hibiscus and all kinds of greens.

Looking forward to future posts and sharing!

Hi and welcome! Did you think you would be charmed so quickly by a tortoise?

I have been reading and I have seen some coir and sand mix work best. I have no idea. She isn't able to dig in what she has now. Just kind of shuffles it around.

Hello and Welcome:) they do steal your heart very quickly. If you do sand, make sure it is mixed and have more of what you mix it in and less sand. The sand can cause impaction, but it is okay to mix it.

Glad your here! Yes, it is a part/full time job reading all the info on here. Check out the enclosure thread too. Hopefully you can build a nice one for outdoors as the weather warms. They do best outside with natural sun and plenty of exploring.

He is really handsome!
