Hello everybody!! So glad I found this site. My name is Tami from Las Vegas,Nv. Brought up in So cal. I had a DT when I was younger. Had to give him up because I moved to Vegas. Never thought about getting another DT.Went about my life had kids....My son is now 18 he has a snake and a beared dragon and always looking for a bigger tank. Which are very expensive.Last winter he saw a tank at the side of the road with a lid too!! Lucky right?? Got home and in the tank and inside was a shoe box with 6 baby DT....( It makes me sick that there are people out there that can do that) So we built an outside enclosure. Lost one baby. The others are very healthy and happy. Now that's why I'm here. A mother of 5 baby DT no bigger then the palm of my hand. Hoping that I can get good info and tips to keep them happy. I will include a pic. when I figure all this out on this forum. Thank you and happy to be here!

Hi Tami:

Why can't I ever luck out like that? I've never, ever found a turtle/tortoise on the side of the road, and I've been driving for over 60 years!

Welcome to the Tortoise Forum!!

Welcome to the forum. How lucky to find baby torts on the side of the road (but curse the ones that put them there)! Can't wait to see pictures when you are able to upload them, many of us use tinypic.com which is free and doesn't require an account (or a lot of thinking) :p

Can't you just see the expression on the guy's face who went back because he remembered he forgot to load up the aquarium and found it was gone? Priceless!
