There use to be a python in the tank. I washed the tank scribes it with water and vinegar that is ok right? My Leo seems upset just standing there maybe he's just stressed from the move? Thanks for the reply Yvonne

I would mind the pebbles. YMMV.

Looks nice, my main two worries were the pebbles like has been mentioned, but also the substrate seems dry, is it? Has your Leo gotten use to it?

The pebbLes I got are all mostly bigger then his head. Most the substrate is moist some is dry. I did half plantation Eco earth dry. And half the brick stuff you wet. And I did this last night so I really don't think he's use to it.

Just as long as you realize that tortoises often will eat rocks, especially white ones. Some do find doing that, but every so often one will become impacted and can even die.

The pebbles are the only problem that I have with it too... mine loves to try to eat rocks of any size. Even if they are as big as he is, he will try to get his mouth on them. Scary stuff!

Tortoises hold onto their water until they come across a puddle or water source to get a fresh drink. When they get new water, they can let the old water go. This saves them from becoming dehydrated in the wild when water is pretty scarce.

Oh wow interesting thanks alot for the help.

just a quick question my tortoise looks to be use to the tank now back to running around, but i notice he for some reason stands under the lamp looks up at it and tries to bite or eat it? its really far from him to even reach?
