I'm so very sorry this happened. Just to ease your mind in case you are blaming yourself, respiratory infections are a lengthy process. A tortoise with a respiratory infection is sick for a very long time before it gets sick enough to die. It's too bad the lady didn't give you the tortoise sooner. It was a beautiful tortoise and I'm very sorry you lost her.
