Today we made the second step to build the enclosure. Yesterday we made the basement for the house. And today we build the border for the enclosure with bricks (very good material!). Tomorrow we will start to build the house. We take normal rocks and as roof we will take a kind of acrylic glass. But this kind use two tilings and in the middle of this twos is air. So this methods isolate the house better then normal acrylic glass. In German they call "Doppelstegplatten". And in the house we make in a height of 30cm wood which pack rocks. So we have to warm of a smaller room and under the rocks it's very warm and the tortoise can sleep under there.
I will share pics when everything is finish. Anybody who has some ideas? We will structure the habitat a bit more ;-)ImageUploadedByTortForum1398258770.827477.jpgImageUploadedByTortForum1398258792.314709.jpgImageUploadedByTortForum1398258810.332690.jpg

Be sure to take pictures of each step along the way with the house. How your going to do it sounds interesting, but I am not sure I am following it correctly.

What species of the tortoise that you had in mind going to live in this enclosure? You have a very nice side of the yard. I like it. Looking forward to your next update.

Yes it's interesting but in the western of Germany we haven't got the best wheatear every time and night are cold often in the summer too. So we have to isolate beet good. I hope we can go on tomorrow than I will share pics. In this enclosure will say in the summer homeana, nougeiy, forstenii and chilensis. It's big enough for four specimens. So two nougeiy two homeana two forstenii and one chilensis.

Yeah, just LOVE auto-correct!

You have a very lush and green area for tortoises. Be sure, when you are finished, that you have the fence straight up and down. Tortoises, especially the species you've mentioned, are good at climbing and a sloping fence makes it even easier for them.

Look nice so far. What are you using for walls?

I use normal bricks which you normally use for house hoods. I don't have to buy them because we've got enough here so why not it works (I hope)

It isn't a beauty but I hope it works. At the next weekend we will build the roof and the door. I will share pics.
