So I recently acquired a 55 gal tank, with stand, and I've been busy cleaning it up and building their new home! It will have a "second floor" - 12"x12" space that they can climb up to using a ramp with side rails. This will be their basking spot. There will be a PowerSun 100 watt MVB above this section.

Underneath this second story is their hiding spot. I have the floor/ceiling insulated pretty well so that the hiding spot doesn't get too hot from the MVB.

Their food and water will be on the other side of the tank. I will be using organic sphagnum moss and organic soil as substrate.

These are pics I have so far, waiting for the water resistant stuff to dry on the wood, and for the MVB & CHE to come in the mail.

Now i realize the distance from the MVB at the top of the tank top the tortoise on the second floor is a problem, currently thinking of ideas. Going to make the lid out of plexiglass, so I might just raise the MVB using that.
